The Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival returned after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 restrictions. This year’s celebration, dubbed, “Making Cape Coast Great Again: promoting education, tourism, and development,” was launched at a ceremony in August.
#septemberincapecoast was also a trending hashtag on Twitter inviting all from around the country and beyond to celebrate this year's festivities.
The festival is celebrated every first Saturday in September by the people and chiefs of the Cape Coast Traditional Area.
Some highlights:
Orange Friday street carnival has become one of the most exciting starts to the festival. Launching in 2013 organized by Cape 93.3 FM, a Cape-Coast-based radio station.
Artist repainting the famous London Bridge.
Bentsir No,1 Company & Anaafo No.2 Company turn-out
One of the highlights this year was young flag dancer Chief Justice from Bentsir No,1 Company.
